After setting the world on fire in 2006 with her sultry “Hips Don’t
Lie,” the Latin Pop vixen Shakira has let loose an even hotter sensation
with her most primal hit yet, She Wolf. Grammy Award-winning
singer/songwriter and record producer Shakira, one of the most exciting
and successful global artists in recent history with more than 214 award
nominations and more than 50 million albums sold worldwide, has
announced her 2010 global tour which includes a performance at the
Mandalay Bay Events Center Saturday, Oct. 16. Concert starts at 8p, and
tickets are priced at $59.50 to $160 plus fees.

Former Nevada Governor Kenny C. Guinn died this past week. Guinn was the
28th governor of Nevada. He was 73 years old and was a two-term
Republican governor from 1999 to 2007. He was working on the roof of his
Las Vegas home and at approximately 10:30a his wife, Dema, discovered
him unconscious on the ground. He was pronounced dead approximately 30
minutes later by Clark County Coroner Mike Murphy at the University
Medical Center. He will be missed and our thoughts and prayers go to the
family and friends of Governor Guinn.

Rock & Rita’s restaurant and bar at Circus Circus, will host NATIONS,
the highly anticipated international flair bartending competition,
Monday, August 16 and Tuesday, August 17. Rock & Rita’s will welcome
more than 50 internationally ranked flair bartenders from nine countries
across the globe as they compete for $25,000 in cash and prizes. The
competition, hosted by Three Olives Vodka, begins Sunday, August 15 with
registration and a meet-and-greet banquet for participants at the
Kahunaville pool at Treasure Island Casino. Qualifying rounds begin
Monday, August 16, at Rock & Rita’s where eight finalists will be
selected to compete in the final rounds on August 17. The grand finale
event will begin at 9p and is open to the public. |
