Residency requirements are six weeks physical residency for either filing party. A witness will be required to testify to this fact.

Documents must conform to local court rule EDCR 7.20 for format and must be typed, signed and notarized prior to filing with the Clerk’s Office. At the time of filing, one original and three copies of each document must be presented. 

Filing fee for Divorce is $147.00 payable in cash, money order, or local check with valid photo identification.

Court hearings must be set with two judicial days notice and will be set on a space available basis.

A Joint Petition for Summary Divorce can take approximately 3-4 weeks to finalize.

Decrees do not become final until they bear the signature of a presiding judge and have been properly filed with the Clerk of the Court.
