I feel marriages should continue to be between one male and one
female, however I have no problem with same sex couples enjoying
benefits as married couples. G Bryan NY
Even though I have several gay friends and I feel they should be
treated better in many situations, I do fee strongly on marriage amoung
one person from each sex. Howard T.
Ok, you got me responding again. Well personally I and my wife don't
care. I'f you let gays and lesbians marry you get there fees for
licenses and what not. Secondly it sounds like people who are worried
about loseing a future mate to a gay person, don't worry. Just let them
live like fellow people and wave good day like anyone else. I for one am
not gay but would much rather have my children wonder why people of the
same sex like each other, rather than wonder why people kill people for
fun. Chad Wright hinsdale, N.H.
Yes! It's not just about same sex marriages. What about the thousands
of couples who choose to remain in heterosexual relationships? The
governors hypocracy is showing Bigtime. If he enters into a relationship
with a female does that mean that he must give up all of his rights &
privileges since he would not be in a government sanctioned
relationship? Just asking. Charles Fox Las Vegas/NV
I would vote to veto that bill too if I was the governor. But its not
really any of our busness. I think it should be up to the ones giving
the benefites. I think if the goverment would stay out of it. let the
places decide on their own, weather they want to give the benefites or
not. Then I think the proble would take care of its self. What gives the
goverment the right to decide what we give to other people. If I don't
want to insure someone, I shouldn't be told I have too. Steve
Sedalia,Mo To each his own where partners are concerned, but I
think it makes a huge statement that the "marriage capital" of America
only honors marriages between a man and a woman, as God intended.
Tammy Cole Williamstown, Mo Full benefits should be
accorded to Anyone who has paid for them by work or their taxes. Most
employers' benefits cover spouses and children, and "single" employees
essentially get screwed out of those benefits and get less of a benefits
package. Social Security goes to a spouse or children upon the death of
the other. If you're single nobody gets anything. We should be able to
designate Anyone we choose, regardless of orientation, gender roles or
whether they come from another planet. Cindy Ballard
Ann Arbor, MI It may not be politically correct, but I still
believe that a marriage is between one man and one woman. Calling it a
domestic partnership is just semantics. It's still just another way to
say marriage. The US was founded on Christian principles and they are
eroding fast enough as it is without further giving into the ways of a
vocal minority. I'm not against gay couples, but I do believe that they
do not meet the qualifications of marriage and should not get the
benefit of such. Sally D. Huntsville, TX No,
marriage should be left to one man, one woman. What's next?
Letting people marry animals? Randy Gettysburg PA I
guess I am still a traditional person and marriage to me is two people
of opposite sex. If the world would want something else, then we
all would have the ability to produce children. Thank you.
